A/Tonal returns to The Kentucky Center for a performance you won't want to miss. Rounding out their 7th season with the energy and sass of John Mackey's Breakdown Tango and the haunting melodies of Paul Allemeier's Pieces of Silver, A/Tonal demonstrates that vast range of colors and styles that support their focus "breaking new ground" (Insider Louisville). They will be joined by guest harpist Roseanna Schaefer Ritchie for Trio for Spry Clarinet, Weeping Cello, and Ruminating Harp by Gilad Cohen, who has "been influenced by a mixture of different musical styles that, in my mind, relate to these instruments: folk music, Jewish klezmer, impressionism, and rock". There will also be two smaller features of our performers, as our two flutists, Charlotte Roth and Sheri Davino, will perform Ian Clarke's duet Maya and clarinetist Carrie RavenStem and pianist Jessica Dorman will perform local composer Jeremy Beck's work Of summers past, or passing. The full ensemble will complete the evening with Anthony Cheung's Enjamb, Imfuse, Implode.
