Barney Bright (1927-1997, American)

Created by Louisville sculptor Barney Bright, this whimsical ballerina embodies the same romantic spirit realized in his well-known public works such as “The Louisville Clock” and “River Horse.”

Considered Louisville’s leading sculptor for many years, Bright’s work has influenced many local artists. From his grand public monuments to small scale figurative works like this intimate bronze statuette, Bright represents an enduring legacy of exceptional local artists whose work has enriched the lives of people in the Louisville community and across the commonwealth.

Located in the Mary Anderson Room.
