12:00–6:00 PM | Festival Marketplace & Community Experience

Explore local vendors, art, community resources, and family friendly activities while celebrating the richness of Latin American cultures.

1:00–2:00 PM | Aflora Welcome & Featured Program

Learn about Aflora’s mission, experience the unveiling of the art exhibition, and meet the featured artists and curator.

2:00–6:00 PM | Live Music & Cultural Performances

Enjoy an afternoon of live and acoustic music, cultural dance performances, and DJ entertainment celebrating the diversity and vibrancy of Latin American.

6:00–6:30 PM | Community Salsa Experience

Join an interactive salsa class open to dancers of all experience levels.

7:00–8:00 PM | Salsa Night Finale

Close the celebration with Salsa Night featuring YAPA at Old Forester’s Paristown Hall.

Join us Sunday, October 18, 12:00-8:00 PM for a free community celebration for the 6^th annual Aflora exhibition. This free event will be held inside Old Forester’s Paristown Hall and outside in Christy’s Garden.

This is a partnership between La Casita Center and Kentucky Performing Arts.

Statement from Ada Asenjo, Aflora Curator:

“Afloramos: We flourish together.

There are many versions of this proverb of African origin:

‘If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.’

This year Aflora has partnered with Old Forester’s Paristown Hall of the Kentucky Performing Arts (KPA) family; the Paristown neighborhood sits in a triangle where immigrants of various nationalities in the 19th century lived peaceably. Those newly arrived from France, Germany, and Ireland made the area their home. They shared their skills, talents, and offerings, prospered, and in turn enhanced the greater community.

We are honored to be in partnership with the folks at Old Forester’s Paristown Hall and KPA, and uphold the values we share, of Unity strengthened by diversity that will take us farther.”
