Thanks to the generous support of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) is proud to offer GSA alumni the opportunity to apply for the Toyota Alumni Fund (TAF.)

As society responds to the spread of COVID-19, artists can provide vitally relevant and needed tools/resources: creative outlets, inspiration, innovation, resiliency, compassion, and connection in a time of “social distancing.”  In response to the unprecedented nature of current events, the guidelines of the Toyota Alumni Fund have been modified for the Spring 2020 grant cycle.  We have also extended the application deadline to April 24th, 2020.

The fund still seeks to support GSA alumni in their artistic development; however, we encourage applications that focus on initiatives that respond to recent shifts in the arts and/or elevate artists’ role in response to current events while maintaining guidelines for social distancing, remaining healthy at home, etc.  This can include funding for virtual artistic programming to be shared with the public, funding for virtual sources of artistic/professional development, etc.  Funding requests for traditional in-person programming in the future will still be considered.  It is not required that the proposal be in direct response to the spread of COVID-19.

We know this is a challenging time for many artists. If you are looking for additional resources, funding opportunities, etc., review this list of artist resources compiled by Creative Capital in response to the spread of COVID-19.

If you are a relative of a Kentucky Performing Arts employee, please contact GSA via email prior to applying for the Toyota Alumni Fund.
